New Renault Clio prices confirmed

New Renault Clio prices confirmed, ranging from £10,595 to £16,095

2013 Renault Clio

Prices and specs for the all-new Renault Clio have been confirmed. The new supermini goes on sale on 1 November, but the first cars don’t arrive at dealers until 1 February 2013. The Clio will only be available as a five-door hatchback.

Prices start at £10,595 for the all-new Clio, slightly more than the £10,395 Ford Fiesta Studio five-door, but less than the entry-level five-door Vauxhall Corsa S at £12,050.

The range starts with the Clio Expression, which is powered by the 1.2 16V 75 engine. Equipment includes a four-speaker stereo with Bluetooth and USB connection; cruise control, Hill Start Assist, electric front windows and door mirrors, and keyless go.

Next up, the Clio Expression+ adds 16-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning and front fog lights. While the Expression model has to make do with one engine choice, the remainder of the core Clio range can be had with Renault’s new 0.9 three-cylinder turbo petrol engine or 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel, in addition to the 1.2 petrol unit.

Renault predicts that the Dynamique MediaNav model will be the top-seller in the UK. The Dynamique MediaNav model adds black gloss exterior trim, auto lights and wipers, a 7-inch touchscreen sat-nav, uprated Arkamys stereo and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

The top-spec model for now, until the new GT Line and Renaultsport versions arrive in 2013, are Clio Dynamique S MediaNav models. These get 17-inch alloys wheels with a selection of four different colour inserts, chrome side window surrounds, climate control, electric folding door mirrors, rear electric windows, gloss black interior door handles and rear parking sensors.

A highlight from the options list is Renault’s R-Link infotainment system (£450 on the Dynamique MediaNav model), which includes a 7-inch touchscreen, upgraded stereo and has a text-to-speech function which can read out your texts or an RSS feed which you’re on the move.

A panoramic glass roof costs £350, while metallic paint will set you back £460. Clio buyers will also be able to select from five exterior and interior décor packs, which allow each car’s trim to be customised.
