From launch, buyers will get a choice of three engines: 110bhp 1.5 dCi and 130bhp 1.6-litre dCi diesels, as well as a downsized 130bhp 1.2-litre TCe petrol. Stop/start technology will be fitted across the range as standard. Also helping trim emissions are a number of aerodynamic aids, which can reduce CO2 output by 4g/km at motorway speeds.
Both two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive versions of the Kadjar will be made available, as will manual and automatic transmissions. All-wheel-drive models provide three driving modes, offering up auto, 4WD and 2WD configurations. Front-wheel-drive versions come with Renault’s Extended Grip traction control system.
A raft of driving aids such as park assist, 360-degreee sensors, a rear-view camera and traffic recognition system are on offer with the Kadjar. Renault has also upgraded its infotainment system – it's now called R-Link 2 and features a Bose surround sound system.
Official pricing for the Renault Kadjar will be announced closer to the car’s arrival in showrooms in the autumn, but a figure in the region of £16,000 is to be expected.
