New Renault Koleos facelift arrives with improved tech and new diesel engines

The facelifted version of the Renault Koleos features refreshed styling, a reworked interior and a pair of new diesel engines

Renault has launched a revised version of the Koleos SUV. Features for the new model include tweaked exterior styling, a revamped interior with an upgraded infotainment system and two new diesel engines. It goes on sale in the UK this October, with prices due to be announced in July.

Styling updates for the new Renault Koleos are minor, stretching to a new front grille, reworked side skirts with chrome trim and a revised rear bumper with a more prominent diffuser. LED headlamps are now standard across the range, while buyers can also opt for a new two-tone alloy wheel design and fresh ‘Vintage Red’ metallic paint.

Renault has also revamped the Koleos’ interior with a range of soft touch trim and retrimmed seat upholstery, while the rear bench now comes as standard with a two-stage reclining function. The brand’s seven- and 8.7-inch infotainment screens have received a software update, too, with both now offering full-screen support for Apple CarPlay.

The first of two new diesel engines is a turbocharged 1.8-litre four-cylinder unit with 148bhp and 340Nm of torque. It comes as standard with a CVT transmission, and is only available in front-wheel-drive. Renault claims the engine emits 143g/km of CO2.

Renault’s second new powertrain is a new turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel, with 187bhp and 380Nm of torque. It also comes with a CVT but, unlike the 1.8-litre unit, four-wheel-drive is standard. As such, emissions figures as slightly poorer at 150g/km of CO2.

Standard kit on the updated Koleos includes adaptive cruise control, dual zone climate control, keyless entry, ambient interior lighting, hands-free parking and a reversing camera. The range continues to be made up of two trim levels, with buyers given the choice of a basic Iconic or GT Line spec.
