• New Renault Megane hatchback review
From the front, the Megane Grand Coupe sticks with the C-shaped LED lights and front-end design from the Megane hatch, but features a larger 503-litre boot – the hatch only offers 434 litres of load space.
Engines are carried over from the hatch, but will vary depending on what market the car is sold in. There is the choice of two petrol engines: a 115bhp 1.6-litre and more powerful 130bhp 1.2-litre turbo. Diesel engines include one 1.5-litre dCi in three states of tune: 90bhp, 110bhp and 130bhp – but like the petrol engines, options available will dependent on country.
Despite this, the Grand Coupe will be sold in more than 20 countries worldwide including Australia, Italy and Ireland. The car will be manufactured in Renault’s Bursa Plant in Turkey where the car will also be sold.
The Grand Coupe joins the hatch and Sport Tourer estate in the Megane lineup, which features a full panoramic glass roof – unique to the C-segment.
