New 2020 Skoda Kamiq Monte Carlo on sale now

Racy new Skoda Kamiq Monte Carlo SUV to be priced from £23,305, with first deliveries to start in Spring

Skoda’s new range-topping Kamiq Monte Carlo is available to order in the UK now. Like the new Scala Monte Carlo, it gets a subtle, sporty makeover inside and out, as well as an increased price-tag of between £23,305 and £25,955. First deliveries are expected in Spring.

As standard the Kamiq Monte Carlo comes with full LED headlights, along with a gloss black frame surrounding the grille, gloss black detailing on the front bumper, wing mirror caps, roof rails, side skirts and the Skoda lettering on the tailgate turns black too.

Tinted side windows and a panoramic roof also appear as standard and, around the back, a new gloss black rear diffuser is joined by full LED taillights. The look is rounded off with a set of 18-inch Monte Carlo design alloy wheels, finished in black.

Inside, the Kamiq Monte Carlo gains height adjustable sports seats for the driver and front passenger. The new sports steering wheel is upholstered in perforated leather, while red accents wind around the cabin. The LED ambient lighting system is also red, while the air vents on the dashboard are finished in chrome. Aluminium sports pedals complete the look.

There’s also a significant step-up in technology – Volkswagen’s 9.2-inch “Amundsen” infotainment system is fitted as standard, along with a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster and gesture control. Buyers also get a one-year subscription to Skoda’s “Care Connect” service, which adds items such automatic service scheduling and a remote lock/unlock function.

Buyers will only be offered a choice of two petrol engines, both tried and tested units already used by the existing Kamiq range. The entry-level model is powered by a turbocharged 1.0-litre three-cylinder unit, delivering 113bhp and 200Nm of torque. The more powerful variant starts from £24,705 and features a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine, which develops 148bhp and 250Nm of torque.

Both units are hitched to a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, although a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic can be specced on either engine for an extra £1,250.
