More kit and £27,560 starting price for revised Skoda Kodiaq

Smarter looks, new engines and improved safety kit reinvigorate Skoda Kodiaq SUV

Skoda has confirmed pricing and specifications for its revised Kodiaq SUV, which comes with a host of improvements and prices raised by around £930 on average.

The range kicks off from £27,560 for the 148bhp 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol-engined five-seat model in SE trim, rising to £43,395 for the top-spec 197bhp 2.0 TDI 4x4 DSG L&K car with seven seats.

All versions feature updated styling, including a new radiator grille, plus revised headlights and a fresh bonnet design. At the rear the new bumper contains a diffuser element, while the tailgate features a more prominent spoiler. The tail-lights have been revised, too.

The engine range comprises three petrols and two diesels, the latter now fitted with Skoda’s ‘twin dosing’ exhaust gas treatment process.

The diesel line-up starts with a 148bhp 2.0-litre unit, after which there’s a 197bhp 2.0-litre TDI that is available on SE L models upwards.

The petrol range starts with the 148bhp 1.5-litre turbo, then there’s a 187bhp 2.0-litre turbo petrol unit in SE L versions and onwards. At the top of the range a 242bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit is offered in the hot vRS version.

SE models start from £27,560 and feature LED headlights, rear LED tail-lights, a colour multifunction trip computer and a space-saver saver wheel.

Next up is SE L, which starts from £31,895 and gets 19-inch alloy wheels, full Matrix LED headlights, an all-weather lighting system and chrome roof rails.

SportLine models are priced from £35,805 and also feature the adaptive Matrix LED headlights, plus dynamic LED tail lights and a rear-view camera, plus larger alloy wheels and a sportier body kit and interior touches.

Top-spec L&K models are more luxurious with prices starting from £41,720. They come loaded with kit, featuring everything mentioned so far plus ventilated leather front seats and a virtual cockpit display.

Safety systems on the Kodiaq have also been improved, so the automatic emergency braking system can now recognise pedestrians and cyclists, while rearward-facing radar sensors can tell if the car is about to be hit from behind, and can prepare the cabin accordingly in a split second.

The revised Skoda Kodiaq is available to order from early June with deliveries expected from July.
