Updates for Toyota RAV4 add new safety kit
Toyota has announced some updates for RAV4 SUV range for 2017
The Toyota RAV4 has been updated for 2017, with the Safety Sense pack now standard on all but the entry-level Active model. Buyers can choose it as a £1,060 option on that car. The pack includes autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, auto high beams and road sign recognition.
All cars except the £23,755 Active model also get sat-nav and free map updates while top-spec cars also get voice recognition and 3D mapping functions for their system.
There's ambient lighting and parking sensors for Business Edition, Business Edition Plus and Icon models, while black rooflining and a memory seat is fitted to Excel models now, costing from £29,850. That version can now be bought with a £1,195 Premium Pack, that adds a powered tailgate with a sensor under the bumper, as well as a sunroof, a blind spot monitor and rear cross traffic alert.
Business Edition Plus cars are now available with the 2.0-litre D-4D engine and front-wheel drive, which wasn't available before, priced from £26,980.
New exterior colours, called Silver Blade and Phantom Blue are available for the updated RAV4, and on Icon and Excel cars you can specify body-coloured bumpers and wheel arches, with contrasting highlights in black and silver for £1,090.
