Best van leasing deals 2022
Van leasing deals can get you into a commercial vehicle with relatively little upfront cost - here are our picks of the best deals
If you want one the latest vans for your business but aren’t too keen on the commitments associated with ownership, leasing could be the ideal solution. A Business Contract Hire (BCH) plan allows you to effectively rent a van for a set monthly fee. The best van leasing deals can prove very cost effective, and some plans even offer a maintenance plan add-on, meaning full peace of mind.
BCH contracts typically last between 24-48 months, and you will need to pay an initial fee (usually the equivalent cost of around 6 monthly payments) at the start. One of the potential downsides of leasing, though, is that these plans come with a yearly mileage allowance that will incur an additional fee that is charged per mile exceeded, which could be very costly.
As with anything financial, leasing may not be for everybody and it is important to do your research before making any firm decisions. To make things easier, we’ve compiled this list of some of the best van leasing deals that are currently available direct from the manufacturer.
Citroen Dispatch
- Model: Dispatch BlueHDi100 S&S 6-speed manual Enterprise Pro M
- Initial payment: £1,572
- Monthly payments: £262
- Mileage allowance: 10,000 per year
- Contract length: 24 months
The Citroen Dispatch is a pleasantly refined mid-size van, thanks largely to it sharing a platform with the Peugeot 308 and Citroen Grand C4 SpaceTourer. Not only does this make longer journeys far more relaxing, but with its full range of Euro-6 compliant engines, you’ll be able to drive into the city, too, avoiding any emissions charges. The trim level on offer here is the Enterprise Pro M (the ‘M’ standing for medium size), and equipment is generous with cruise control, hill-start assist and air-conditioning, along with dual-sliding side doors to make loading and unloading much easier. Citroen Relay
- Model: Relay 35 L3H2 BlueHDi 140 S&S 6-speed manual Enterprise
- Initial payment: £1,944
- Monthly payments: £342
- Mileage allowance: 10,000 per year
- Contract length: 36 months
The largest van in Citroen’s current lineup, the Relay hasn’t quite the refinement of its smaller, car-based counterparts but makes up for this in sheer durability. The basic design has been around since 2006 but Citroen has worked hard to keep the Relay up to date with its competitors. The latest facelifted version was introduced in 2021 with crucial parts such as the doors and brakes being tested and upgraded for further durability. The engine range was also updated to meet emissions standards and improve economy. Click here to view this deal.
Mercedes eVito
- Model: eVito Van L2 PROGRESSIVE F/L 41kW
- Initial payment: £2,115
- Monthly payments: £352.50
- Mileage allowance: 10,000 per year
- Contract length: 36 months
If you frequently drive in areas with schemes in place such as the London Ultra Low Emission Zone or are seeking to make big savings in both tax and running costs, then now could be the time to switch to electric. Due to the technology still being in its earlier stages, electric vans do command a higher price than their diesel equivalents, but the Mercedes eVito is currently one of the most affordable, thanks to this leasing particular deal. With its limited 93-mile range, this van is better suited to city-based couriers or localised tradespeople with access to a charger overnight. If this works for you then the six cubic metres of cargo volume and 923kg payload of the L2 on offer here should prove plenty for your day-to-day jobs. Click here to view this deal.
Renault Trafic
- Model: SL28 Blue dCi B130 Business+
- Initial payment: £1,626
- Monthly payments: £271
- Mileage allowance: 10,000 per year
- Contract length: 48 months
The Renault Trafic is one of the most popular and best medium-sized vans in the UK. Renault has taken a similar approach as Citroen has with the Relay by performing a significant facelift on the existing Trafic for 2021 rather than replacing it. This particular offer is £9 a month more than the cheapest BCH deal available on the Trafic. For this small extra cost, though, you will get a Business+ trimmed model with much more tech, such as Renault’s latest Easylink 8in touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, air-conditioning and a Mobile Office setup – a dashboard device cradle plus a middle passenger seat that folds down to reveal a clipboard and laptop storage. Toyota Proace City
- Model: Proace City Active 1.5D Manual 100hp
- Initial payment: £1,194
- Monthly payments: £199
- Mileage allowance: 8,000 per year
- Contract length: 36 months
The Toyota Proace City is closely related to the Citroen Berlingo, Peugeot Partner, and Vauxhall Combo. This family of vans is cleverly designed to maximise the space available from the small shape while being almost car-like to drive. Two Europallets can fit in the back of the Proace City with ease. The reason why Toyota made this list over the other brands is because it offers some of the cheapest deals. That said, you won’t be making any sacrifices to make these savings, because even this base-level Active trim is rather well equipped with automatic headlights, air-conditioning and hill-start assistance. Toyota Proace Electric
- Model: Proace Icon Medium Electric 50KW 136hp
- Initial payment: £2,172
- Monthly payments: £362
- Mileage allowance: 8,000 per year
- Contract length: 36 months
The Toyota Proace Electric is not only the brand’s first fully-electric vehicle to go on sale in the UK, but it’s also one of the best electric vans that you can lease or buy. Like the diesel Proace, the electric model is also a badge-engineered variant of the Citroen e-Dispatch, Peugeot e-Expert and Vauxhall Vivaro-e vans that are produced by Stellantis. The van in this deal features the smaller 50kWh battery that comes with a claimed range of 142 miles. While this should prove enough for most city-based driving and shorter-distances, a larger 75kWh battery is also available which ups the claimed range to 205 miles. Both are significantly higher than the vast majority of rivals can muster. Be careful, though, because this lease deal has a yearly limit of only 8,000 miles. Click here to view this deal.
Volkswagen Caddy
- Model: Caddy Cargo Commerce 2.0TDI 102PS 6-speed manual
- Initial payment: £1,320
- Monthly payments: £220
- Mileage allowance: 10,000 per year
- Contract length: 36 months
Although it seems that Stellantis has taken the big share of the small van market with its four Berlingo-based models, the Volkswagen Caddy is still a firm contender in this sector, with solid build quality and a generous amount of on-board tech. The Commerce trim is the base model of the range but still includes plenty, and places a particular emphasis on safety: Brake Assist, a call emergency system, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold function, and Autonomous Emergency Braking front assist with Pedestrian Monitoring are all fitted as standard. Volkswagen Transporter
- Model: Transporter 6.1 T28 panel van Startline SWB 2.0TDI 110PS 5-speed manual
- Initial payment: £1,530
- Monthly payments: £255
- Mileage allowance: 10,000 per year
- Contract length: 36 months
The Volkswagen Transporter has long enjoyed a reputation as a particularly desirable medium-sized van. A high level of refinement, up-to-date technology and even its appearance are all enough to put a number of rivals to shame. This is no vanity vehicle, though, because the Transporter should prove a very capable workhorse for your business needs. The short-wheelbase T28 model on offer here brings a 2,800kg gross vehicle weight, a load length of 2,570mm, a roof height of 1,410mm and a width of 1,244mm between the rear wheelarches.
