New Skoda Superb SportLine on sale now, and yes, you can get it as an estate
Petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid versions of the Superb are now available in SportLine trim, with prices starting from £42,290
The new Skoda Superb hatch and award-winning Superb Estate are now available to order in SportLine trim, which as the name suggests, gives the Czech brand’s practical family car a boy racer-type makeover and adds some small chassis tweaks, interior upgrades and extra equipment.
Probably the most noticeable styling change is all the extra gloss black detailing, including the front grille surround and window frames, the roof rails and the Skoda lettering on the bootlid.
The front bumper has been tweaked slightly too, there’s unique SportLine badging on the front wings and the car is lowered by 15mm thanks to a sport chassis. Completing the look are 19-inch black Torcular alloy wheels, which feature as standard.
Meanwhile, the cabin gets stainless steel pedals, a three-spoke sports steering wheel, black headlining, decorative strips on the dashboard and carbon-effect door trim. The 10-inch Virtual Cockpit driver’s display even has SportLine-specific graphics, and is paired with a 13-inch central touchscreen.
SportLine models come as standard with electrically adjustable, massaging front seats and Microsuede Sport upholstery. Other additional kit includes matrix LED beam headlights, a hands-free electric tailgate, a tinted rear windscreen and rear side windows, plus progressive steering.
All of the Superb’s powertrains are available in SportLine trim. That means you can order the hatchback, which starts from £42,290, with either a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol, 2.0-litre diesel or 2.0-litre pure-petrol engines that produce from 148bhp up to 261bhp. They’re all paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch DSG transmission, but the more potent versions of the 2.0-litre motors also feature all-wheel drive.
The same selection of engines is available in the Superb Estate, which in SportLine trim starts from £43,590. But the more practical wagon also gets the option of a plug-in hybrid set-up with 201bhp and a pure-electric driving range up to 79 miles, thanks to its 19.7kWh usable battery.
