Once alerted by the movement sensor on the vehicle, Tracker’s HQ confirms the theft, then tracks the car using GPS and VHF signals – the latter of which can be detected by suitably equipped police vehicles. This can be useful if the model is parked in an area where GPS reception is poor. The Echo is the top-spec system, and features an electronic owner-recognition card and full Category 5 approval. With both set-ups, a uniformed guard will wait with the recovered vehicle anywhere in mainland Great Britain until it’s picked up.
