Garmin nuvi 3490LMT

Price: £309.99 Contact: www.garmin.co.uk

New sat-nav has a brighter screen and is better designed than the 1695 – the sleek case is only 3mm deep and the device can be used in portrait or landscape modes. The 3490LMT was also slightly faster to reroute us when we ignored the directions, taking three seconds as opposed to four. You also get free lifetime European maps and TMC traffic updates – hence the LMT name. Ultimately, though, we don’t think this is worth £110 more than the 1695, which is just as accurate and shares many of its features.
