There was little to choose between the standard offerings from Philips, Ring, Halfords and Osram in our test, although consistency earns the Original Xenarc four stars. When we compared our two sample bulbs, there were just single figure differences between them. It didn’t struggle at 75 metres, but the other standard bulbs had a slight edge over the Osram Original at the 50-metre mark. Even so, the spread of light was impressive on the horizon and the dark spot in the middle of the road small.
