New 2023 Fiat 600e priced from £32,995

The all-electric Fiat 600e small SUV aims to combine retro design with the latest technology

Fiat has lent on parent company Stellantis to provide a new EV called the 600e - which will go on sale in October ahead of first customer deliveries in early 2024.

The 600e utilises the same e-CMP platform found on the Citroen e-C4, Vauxhall Mokka Electric and Peugeot e-2008. As such it can rival its Stellantis siblings for range with a maximum 249 miles claimed by Fiat.

Just one powertrain is offered - a familiar 54kWh battery sends energy to a 154bhp electric motor on the front wheels for a 0-62mph time in nine seconds. Charging speeds stand at sub-30 minutes to go from 20 to 80 per cent with 100kW charging. An 11kW onboard charger is included as well.

Fiat has also kept the trim levels simple with two options. An entry-level FIAT 600e Red starts at £32,995 and comes with 16-inch steel wheels, gloss black wing mirror caps, matte black side skirts, automatic climate control, rear parking sensors, keyless go and LED lights front and rear. The Red also gets some bespoke features such as ‘RED’ exterior logos, a red painted dash and red detailing on the upholstery.

The 600e La Prima starts at £36,995 and adds 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, chromed exterior detailing, an ivory-painted dashboard, a 180-degree rear camera, synthetic leather heated seats (with a massage function for the driver’s seat), hands-free tailgate and a wireless smartphone charging pad.

As standard the Fiat 600e gets a 7-inch driver’s display and 10.25-inch central infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, but La Prima adds an integrated sat-nav and upgraded sound system.

The 600e is around eight centimetres longer than the new Jeep Avenger, at 4.17 metres, and the boot capacity is five litres more than the Jeep’s, at 360 litres. There are also some handy storage compartments inside totalling an extra 15 litres of capacity.

The all-electric 600e will be joined in the UK by a petrol-hybrid variant in 2024.
