New 2023 Hyundai i10: pricing and specifications revealed

Hyundai has given its smallest model a facelift this year

Prices for the facelifted, third-generation i10 have been revealed with Hyundai’s city car receiving a suite of exterior design tweaks and new equipment levels for 2023.

The city car segment has dwindled in recent years and it’s no secret that car manufacturers are finding it increasingly difficult to make a profit in the sector. Rivals for the i10 such as the Peugeot 108 and its Citroen C1 sibling have been axed, along with the Vauxhall Viva, Renault Twingo and Skoda Citigo. The i10 is still going strong however, with Hyundai stating this update features “comfort elements, and technologies that are usually only seen in higher segments.”

Hyundai also says the new i10 has gained a sportier stance with the facelift. Exterior tweaks are fairly minimal with reshaped LED headlights front and rear, a new grille insert and fresh 15-inch alloy wheels.

The range kicks off with the £15,420 Advance trim level, which essentially replaces the old SE Connect version. It offers a new 4.2-inch driver’s display, keyless entry, USB-C charging ports and rear parking sensors as standard. The i10 also gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless smartphone connectivity across all models, plus the ability to receive over-the-air updates for the eight-inch touchscreen. Safety features have been added in the form of collision avoidance assist, pedestrian detection, speed limit assist and lane assist.

Step up to the mid-range Premium from £16,720 and there’s 16-inch alloy wheels, bi-function headlights, LED daytime running lights, front fog lights, tinted windows, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. Blue LED interior lighting has been added to the cabin and are now electric folding door mirrors, and wireless phone charging. A tartan fabric design now covers the seats with purple stitching. The dash also gets a splash of colour with Meta blue air vents and dashboard.

Pick the £18,020 i10 N Line range-topper and you’ll get bespoke bumpers front and rear with red accents throughout and N Line-specific 16-inch alloy wheels plus bespoke front fog lights. Two new exterior colours have been added with Lumen Grey and Meta Blue - combined with a black two-tone roof. The interior also feature bespoke N Line seats.

All powertrains have been retained for the facelift. Both the 66bhp 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine and 83bhp 1.2-litre MPi four-cylinder are available with a five-speed manual or five-speed automatic in Advance or Premium trim levels.

The N Line is only equipped with a 99bhp turbocharged 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine with a five-speed manual gearbox. 0-62mph stands at 10.5 seconds and it’ll top out at 115mph.
