Lexus NX review - Reliability and safety
Customer satisfaction with Lexus is generally good, while the NX's safety credentials are first-class
While the Lexus NX didn’t feature in our most recent 2024 Driver Power customer satisfaction survey, the brand finished a respectable 12th place out of 32 manufacturers included. That puts it comfortably ahead of BMW (14th), Volvo (16th), Mercedes (25th), and Audi (27th).
The NX achieved a full five-star safety rating from industry crash-test body Euro NCAP. Scores of 81 per cent for adult occupant safety and 87 per cent for child passenger protection should provide reassurance - particularly for buyers looking for a family SUV.
In addition to more regular safety tech such as ABS and traction control, Lexus includes its Safety System+3 pack as standard for the NX. It uses a combination of camera and radar-based systems to help prevent a collision and to feed important information back to the driver. For example, Lane Tracing Assist helps keep the car in the centre of the lane, while Road Sign Assist will recognise traffic sign information and highlight it on the driver’s display screen.

Warranty
Lexus offers a standard warranty of three-years/60,000 miles (whichever comes first), although you will receive a further 12-month’s cover each time you have your NX serviced at a Lexus Service Centre – up to a total of ten years or 100,000 miles. Three-years Lexus roadside assistance is included, too.
Servicing
Servicing for the NX is required every 12 months or 10,000 miles, and Lexus provides individual servicing plans tailored to the age and mileage of your car, with payment options over 24 or 36 months.
