Mercedes-AMG teams up with Palace Skateboards for Art Cars
Four Art Cars have been co-created by the German firm and the skatewear brand
Mercedes-AMG has teamed up with London-based skateboard and streetwear brand Palace to create four one-off Art Cars inspired by London, Los Angeles, New York and Tokyo.
The collection comes after Palace designed the livery for a Mercedes-AMG Team HRT GT3 race car that competed at last year’s Nürburgring 24 Hours.
Beginning with the Mercedes-AMG A 45 S, the Palace inspired hot hatch gets a ‘Tiger London’ design paying homage to the vibrant and diverse custom car scene in the UK in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
A new Mercedes-AMG SL 63 has been given a similar makeover with ‘Sunset LA’ paintwork that supposedly represents ‘perpetual Californian summer’.
The GT 4-Door 63 also gets a custom design with a ‘Neon Fade New York’ colour scheme which transforms from black at the front of the car to yellow at the back.
The collection is completed by a G 63 ‘Space Horse Tokyo’ with a depiction of a horse galloping through space on the side as a recognition of Japan’s anime culture.
The customisation doesn’t stop on the outside as the interiors receive special seat upholstery colours and door panels as well as individually designed floor mats, head restraints, ahandrest with embossed logo and LED puddle lights.
