New 2020 Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo facelift spied
New 2020 Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo spotted cold-weather testing with minimal disguise in Sweden
The Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo has been spied winter testing in Sweden, as the German marque prepares to give the car a mid-life facelift.
The test mule wears very little in the way of camouflage, revealing minor changes to the exterior of the vehicle. At the front, the LED daytime running lights have been split in two, sitting across a slightly more complex grille design. The headlight signature doesn’t appear to have changed, however.
At the rear, the design has barely evolved at all, with the exception of a deeper diffuser that – as before – houses four round exhaust pipes.
The green brake calipers suggest we’re looking at the top-of-the-range S E-Hybrid model. The plug-in hybrid combines a twin-turbo V8 engine and an electric motor for 671bhp and 850Nm in its current form, with electric-only range amounting to 23 miles. These figures are likely to be improved on for the update.
This is likely to be the most important variant for Porsche, with the company saying that plug-in tech has accounted for around two-thirds of Panamera sales in the UK.
Prices and an on-sale date remain under wraps for now, but given the car’s lifecycle we’d expect the facelifted model to be revealed later this year.
The entry-level Panamera 4 Sport Turismo currently starts from £75,037, rising to £142,279 for the top-spec Turbo S E-Hybrid model. Prices are likely to climb slightly across the line-up when the facelifted car hits showrooms in 2021.
