A-Z Great Britain Road Atlas 2006

Price: £11.95 Main scale/size: 3.5mpi/A4

It's a bad start for A-Z, as its smallest atlas had the joint highest price per page - its nine pence rating was only matched by the AA's A4 example. It also had the second smallest scale, only beaten by another A-Z map, which meant that one of our chosen test locations didn't appear in the atlas at all. Happily, the motorway junctions were shown in full, with all slip roads and connections, and there were 80 town plans which were reasonably detailed, albeit without an index to refer to. There were also 19 small airport and port maps, plus larger approach plans for London, Birmingham and Manchester. It may sound fairly comprehensive, but we would really have expected more content for the cover price.
