Alan Aldrdige MINI

Famous illustrator turns his hand to the MINI's bodywork

No car offers the same scope for personalisation as a modern MINI, but even so this is one car that’s taken it too far! It’s the work of legendary illustrator Alan Aldridge, most famous for his Beatles and Rolling Stones album artwork back in the sixties and seventies.

The project was designed to mark the opening of an exhibition of his work at the Design Museum in London last year. The split pink and blue colour scheme represents male and female themes, in a nod towards an iconic Sunday Times Magazine cover, which in 1965 featured a classic Mini he painted in a similar style.
