Ferrari 458 Italia

Ferrari's new entry-level car has all the makings of a classic

Boasting a 0-60mph time of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 203mph, Ferrari’s new 458 Italia is the fastest V8 road car it’s ever built. The replacement for the 430 was always going to have big shoes to fill, but with 570bhp and gorgeous looks it’s hard to see Ferrari putting a foot wrong.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels, andcontrolled using Ferrari's "e-diff" limited slip differential andadjustable F1-Trac traction control system. Backed by lightweight carbon ceramic brakes, the car takes its inspiration from Ferrari F1 racers.

But it's not just the mechanicals that are inspired by motorsport. Atthe rear of the car you'll find the distinctive three-tailpipearrangement, first seen in our spyshots. According to insiders, theexhaust note has been modelled on the firm's F1 car - sounding everybit as high-pitched.

Not content with creating the fastest V8 Ferrari ever, it also wanted the 458 to be the most eco-friendly, too which is why its infused with exotic, lightweight materials to keep speed up and emissions down.
