The new MINI has been winning group tests in all of its various guises since BMW took the reins – and October saw it chalk up another one. This time it was a new entry-level version doing the honours.
The First was the firm’s answer to the credit crunch, with a low price designed to appeal to motorists who were planning to use the Scrappage Scheme. We hit the
high street to put it up against rivals from Fiat and Toyota, and emerged convinced that the market for premium city cars has never been in better health.
