The arrival of two new people carriers meant the Mazda 5 MPV was relegated to the role of old-timer in this test. The six-seater faced the latest Toyota Verso and Renault Grand Scenic, both of which offer space for seven. In a close-run contest, the Scenic claimed the spoils, although the Mazda wasn’t disgraced – it finished comfortably ahead of the Toyota in our final verdict.
