Green light for the F-Type

After years of waiting, Jaguar's new Boxster-rivalling small supercar gets the go-ahead.

Jaguar’s eagerly anticipated F-Type is go! In Issue 1,117, we reported how bosses have finally given the green light to a two-seat roadster to rival the Porsche Boxster

The news was revealed by company chairman Ralf Speth, who said: “We have a new momentum. A new sports car is coming.”

A spiritual successor to the E-Type has been on the cards since 1998’s XK180 concept, but did not materialise as Jaguar struggled with its finances. Now under Tata’s ownership, the project has been signed off. It will sit below the XK and cost around £45,000-£50,000.
