Ford Focus
One of the UK's most popular cars is getting a completely new model in 2011.
It’s been 100 years since the firm started building cars in the UK, but Ford fans will be more interested in the launch of the next generation of its ultra-popular compact family hatchback.
The Focus MkIII marks a new level of engineering co-operation with the various Ford divisions around the world, and the model will be sold in 122 countries, including the US. It’s based on the new chassis that’s already underpinning the latest C-MAX, and three and five-door models will be offered.
They will be followed by the eagerly anticipated ST performance model early in 2012, while company insiders have also hinted at the introduction of a coupé, which will be a spiritual successor to the legendary Capri.
The Focus will be powered by the latest versions of Ford’s acclaimed EcoBoost petrol engines, as well as fuel-efficient TDCi diesels.
