With a fifth place overall in the survey, the Subaru Outback is definitely doing something right. And one of the areas where it excels is in terms of its interior and comfort, owners tell us.
There’s a wide range of attributes taken into consideration for this category, with rankings for interior styling, quality and finish, front-seat comfort, visibility for the driver and rear-seat legroom. The Outback’s solid 14th place for interior quality is its least satisfactory attribute in the category by some margin; it bagged third place for front-seat comfort, a pair of second places for visibility and space in the rear seats, with a fabulous first place for interior style.
Hot on the Outback’s tail are the Lexus RX and Kia Sorento. The former bags first place for interior finish and quality, and second for interior styling, and adds fifth places for front-seat comfort and rear legroom. The third-in-category Sorento’s highlights are a third for interior style plus eighth for quality, sixth for seat comfort and seventh for rear legroom.
Your view
“Given the overall length of the vehicle and the massive boot, the amount of legroom in the rear is incredible.”
