Maserati GranCabrio
Maserati has opened up about its new drop-top stunner!
The Italian firm has unveiled the roofless version of its GranTurismo sports car at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Named the GranCabrio, it’s the first four-seat convertible to wear the Trident badge – and becomes the third prong in Maserati's line-up, alongside the GranTurismo and Quattroporte.
It's powered by a 433bhp 4.7-litre V8, which menas it takes 5.4 seconds to accelerate from 0-62mph. And with the roof up it will reach 177mph.
But the GranCabrio isn’t simply about performance. It was designed by Italian styling house Pininfarina, and retains the head-turning looks of the hard-top GranTurismo. A 2,942mm wheelbase means the rear seats will promise enough space for adult passengers. Instead of a metal folding roof seen on prototype versions of the car, a canvas top will be used.
The GranCabrio will go on sale in the spring, and although prices have not yet been confirmed, it is expected to sell for around £100,000.
