A variation on the chain wrench idea, and much more usable. By replacing the cumbersome lever with a socket, the Halfords suited all but the most inaccessible filters. We could drive the socket with a decent-size lever and extension, rather than rely on a short lever on the chain. The socket tended to dig into the filter wall, improving grip.
