Land Rover Discovery Country Pursuits is most sporting Disco ever
One-off Country Pursuits Discovery concept aims to appeal to sporting enthusiasts and estate managers, with production likely
Land Rover has built a one-off Discovery designed to be more countrified than ever before.
Built by Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division, the Country Pursuits Concept is primarily aimed at estate managers and for conservation duties, but also those who enjoy sporting activities in the countryside.
On the outside the Country Pursuits looks more rural than ever thanks to 19-inch alloys shod with chunky mud-terrain 255/55R19 Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tyres, and Aintree Green Paint with a grey contrasting roof.
Based on a Discovery HSE Luxury 3.0-litre TD6, inside there’s the usual rear seat entertainment package and climate seats trimmed in Ebony leather, but it’s in the back where Country Pursuits becomes more bespoke.
The usual third row of seats is removed and the space is replaced with an Ebony veneered cabinet for four guns; two lower drawers are for gun cartridges and accessories and a divider. The remaining space is intended for two dogs or for hanging game.
SVO has built the car following customer enquiries for such a vehicle. Just one car has been built and Land Rover will spend the winter marketing the car to gauge potential buyers’ reactions. Full production is likely with models potential costing around £80,000 for the top spec HSE Luxury version, or for around £5,000, the modifications could be made to a lesser model or an existing customer car.
Would you buy the Land Rover Discovery Country Pursuits if it made production?
